Welcome to Stage 3
We have a wonderful team of teachers this year working with the students in Stage 3.
In English we will be looking at the purpose and audience of the different text types in writing.
In Mathematics, Stage 3 will be covering the following areas:
- Whole Number
- Addition and Subtraction
- Data
- Multiplication and Division
- Time
- Position
- Length
Our integrated unit of inquiry will be "Ethics And Emotions"
During this unit students track their emotions and consider ethical dilemmas. They experience new things and learn about social, emotional and physical challenges during adolescence.
The Essential Questions during this unit are:
- What are the social, emotional and physical challenges experienced during adolescence?
- How can the social, emotional and physical challenges experienced during adolescence be managed?
- What are ethical dilemmas and ethical principles?
As a result of their work during this unit of inquiry, it is hoped that the students will have a greater capacity to maintain their equilibrium throughout puberty. It is also hoped that the students will have a repertoire of strategies that support the maintenance of their sense of self-worth and wellbeing.
