Lunchtime Library Activities
The Library is a popular space at lunchtime. Students enjoy reading, drawing, chess, Lego building, farm animal play and dinosaur play. Our P&C have kindly donated funds for us to purchase additional resources for lunchtimes.
Library Monitors
Our Library Monitors do a wonderful job supporting younger children and reshelving books. Monitors nominate in Term 1 each year.
Premier's Reading Challenge
Each year our students participate in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC). Students who complete the challenge will receive their certificates later in the year.
Students from K-2 complete the PRC in library and class time. I will process the PRC reading log for students K-2. Students 3-6 will log their own books at the PRC website. Students can add to their log from home and in library time at school. Parents can view their child's PRC progress when they are logged in at home.
Parent Help
We are blessed with the support of so many parents and carers at KPS. Parents can assist in the library in a variety of ways, such as
- Re-shelving books
- Covering library books and readers
- Donating new books
Please contact our Teacher Librarian, Mrs Judd for more information.
