Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Creative and Performing Arts Assembly - Friday 23 June 2017

CAPA Assembly 23 June (PDF 156KB)

On Friday, June 23,  KPS will present a special assembly at 9:00am to allow our students and families to preview the KPS Central Coast Dance Festival performances from Kindergarten, 2W and Stage 3. Some of our school violinists will be performing as well as the students of 1MC. Our students who recently visited Taronga Zoo will be presenting a report on their experience.

At this assembly we will also acknowledge the outstanding efforts of those KPS students who have achieved their Gold Certificate for 2017.

We anticipate this will be a wonderful showcase of the talent across our school and, for this reason, we have invited Mrs Peters, currently relieving as Principal at Terrigal Primary School, to return as our official special guest for the performance.

Dancers are requested to arrive at school in costume, ready for the performance. Time will be provided for students to change back into school uniform after the performance.

Education Week Creative Arts Assembly

The special Education Week Creative Arts Assembly is an opportunity for our performers to present to their peers and families and allow our school community to enjoy and recognise the achievements of many of our students who have represented our school in a range of creative and performing arts opportunities through the year.

Following the assembly, parents are invited to visit classrooms until lunchtime to view student work and discuss progress towards student learning goals with their children.
